The above images show the results of a virus scan on an infected machine. Out of the 50,000+ trojans and worms that were found luckily only a fraction of those were actively running on the machine. It was however enough to slow the machine down and take away many user functions. It took a great deal of time just to get an anti-virus program to run.
I have seen this countless times when people use Limewire. Not to say it is a fault of limewire just lack of security on the end user. What happens is by sharing files over a vast network without the proper security in place trojans and hackers have access to those shared folders on the computer that is sharing those files. It is even possible to see the end users I.P. address. In the case above, as I have seen often, a folder is created with hidden properties enabled then thousands of zipped up trojan / worm files are created named after popular apps and shared over the network for unsuspecting people to download, get infected with them and share in the same way. Of course the folder is not the only issue, the folder is created because the machine is already infected and then sharing those infected files.
I suggest you have your machine checked out if you are using limewire or any other file sharing app. Once infected by these viruses it can become almost impossible to install anti-virus or even use the one(s) you may already have installed.

Viruses, Trojans, Malware, Spyware, Scareware, etc. For a Microsoft Windows user the list of problems and the sources for them are almost infinite.
